OUR HISTORY
The Lighted Church is the church arm of The Light of the World Outreach Ministries. It is a church of the living God that has its foundation on Jesus Christ the Way, the Truth and the Life. It is a church born out of a vision to see humanity completely free from all forms of enslavement and bondage and in the light of such total freedom also help to set others free. The vision for the Commission was delivered by God through the President and Founder, Rev Charles Ojei. He was ordained an Evangelist in 1992 and as Pastor of The Lighted Church on the 11th of December, 1999 and on the same date, The Lighted Church was born.
The church is duly registered under the umbrella of The Light of the World Outreach Ministries Inc. with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
The Church was founded with tri-fold intent of:
• Recruiting men for God’s kingdom from the enemy’s camp as Jesus did recommend. ( Luke 19:10);
• Preaching the word of truth to open the eyes of God’s people to the reality of the finished work of Calvary and God’s perfect will for their lives ( Hosea 4:6); and
• Preparing the saints for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 14:1-3);
MATTHEW 5: 14-16
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
To see people of all nations and tribes come into the kingdom of God through the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
To gather God’s people who will serve the Lord with all their heart, soul and mind; a people who will do His will, share His love all over the world and be prepared for His second coming; a church where everyone identifies and utilizes their God-given gifts, talents and blessings to share the gospel of Jesus in their neighbourhood, places of work or business; in all communities of the world in which they find themselves.
To develop the children of God to know who they are in Christ and therefore be all that God wants them to be.
To encourage the church to be partners in the preaching of the gospel of Christ to the hopeless, broken hearted, deprived, disaster victims and those in hospices all over the world. We work in mission fields, hospitals, refugee camps, prisons, orphanages, natural disaster zones.
To identify and be a blessing and partner with other ministries with similar mission all over the world as God will lead us
